Finding Glossary
Pinch Bail - A small metal finding used to connect a pendant to a chain or cord. It is shaped like a pinch with a small opening at the top and two metal arms that "pinch" around the pendant to hold it in place.
Cord End - A metal finding that is used to secure and finish the ends of cords or strings used in jewelry making. It is crimped onto the end of the cord to prevent fraying and add a finished look.
Spacer - A small bead or finding that is used to separate other beads and add space between them in jewelry making. Spacers can be plain or decorative and come in a variety of materials, including metal, glass, and stone.
Ball Chain Connectors - A metal finding used to connect two pieces of ball chains together. They are commonly used in jewelry making to create necklaces, bracelets, and other jewelry items.
Pins - A long, thin metal wire with a sharp point on one end used for fastening fabric, or for attaching components in jewelry making.
Head Pins - A type of pin commonly used in jewelry making that has a decorative head or cap on one end, to prevent beads from sliding off.
Eye Pins - A type of pin commonly used in jewelry making that has a loop or "eye" on one end, to easily attach other components, like charms or beads.
Ball Pins - A type of pin commonly used in jewelry making that has a small ball on one end, to add interest and texture to a piece.
Lobster Claw Clasp - A type of clasp used in jewelry making that is shaped like a lobster claw. It opens and closes to secure a necklace or bracelet in place.
Toggle - A type of clasp used in jewelry making that consists of a bar with a loop on one end and a ring on the other. The loop fits through the ring to secure a necklace or bracelet in place.
Spring Ring - A type of clasp used in jewelry making that has a small spring-loaded mechanism that opens and closes to secure a necklace or bracelet in place.
Barrel Clasp - A type of clasp used in jewelry making that consists of two interlocking barrels that screw together to secure a necklace or bracelet in place.
S Hooks - A type of hook used in jewelry making that is shaped like the letter "S". They are used to attach components, like charms, to a necklace or bracelet.
Ear Stud - A type of earring finding that is used to attach a decorative element, like a gemstone or bead, to a post that is then inserted into a pierced earlobe.
Crimp Beads - Small, cylindrical beads used in jewelry making to secure cords or threads in place. They are crimped onto the cord with pliers to prevent it from slipping.
Jump Ring - A small circular metal finding used in jewelry making to connect components, like charms or pendants, to chains or cords.
Charms and Pendants - Small decorative elements used in jewelry making that can be attached to chains, cords, or earrings.
Bezels - A type of setting used in jewelry making to securely hold a stone or other decorative element in place. They are often made of metal and are shaped to fit the stone snugly.
Extender Chain - A length of the chain used in jewelry making to add length.
Bangle Base - Metal bangle bases are used as the foundation for creating bangle bracelets using various materials to work on custom designs.
Finger Ring Base - Finger Ring bases are used to make custom Ring styles , they are plated and various beads and findings can be used.
Hairband Base - Available in Iron and Acrylic these can be used to make custom hairband styles.
Brooch Pin - The safety pin style brooch fitting consists of a metal pin with a clasp that is attached to the back of the brooch.
